Report from the district clinic: Understanding for unvaccinated people is dwindling

In all discussions about vaccination rates and easing: The corona pandemic continues to play a central role in the district clinic.

- In the district hospital, the corona crisis team was reactivated some time ago, said clinic director Alfons Groitl in his situation report in the district council.

The employees' understanding of the unvaccinated is decreasing, repeated Huber and looked into the group of clinic supervisors who were answering questions in the district assembly. “It's the same with us,” said Huber, and won approval.

Nine to twelve intensive care patients could be cared for in this way in Bruck, added the medical director, Florian Weis.

Marcus Schlund, commercial director, reported that the district clinic had consistently cared for corona patients.

Many clinics would duck when the control center tried to accommodate a patient to be ventilated.

"We don't do that, we don't duck."

Black zero in 2020

Economically, the district clinic closed the year 2020 with a black zero thanks to state Corona aid, as Alfons Groitl said.

For the year 2021, there was a lack of knowledge from the last quarter to make statements.

According to an extrapolation, however, one assumes a minus this year.

The nursing emergency

Clinic director Alfons Groitl said that the nursing care emergency is being countered with all might.

In the long run, however, it will not succeed.

For the first time in years, not all apprenticeships are filled.

The clinic is trying to counter the problem by acquiring staff in South-Eastern Europe, especially in Albania and Kosovo.

However, that does not solve the problem, said Wilhelm Huber, who spoke of an "extremely difficult situation".

"How it will go on, I don't know."

The problem cannot be solved in Bruck.

Training and ensuring a good inner-hospital climate: He didn't have any more ideas, said Huber.

You can only occupy as many beds as you can take care of patients.
