Gaißach citizens started a signature campaign on the weekend against the plans of the Sparkasse, which wants to completely close its branch in Gaißach-Mühl.
Gaißach - The initiators demand the "receipt of a self-service point with ATM, account statement printer and mailbox in the anteroom of the Sparkasse or in the building of the neighboring Raiffeisenbank".
None of the three initiators would like to comment on this at the moment or be named.
The signature lists are available in the Maier butcher's shop (Pulverwirt), in the Jost apple farm shop, in the town hall, in the kindergarten, in the Gaißach group practice and in the Michaeli pharmacy.
Internal meeting instead of special public meeting
In the meantime, the municipality of Gaißach informed in a press release that the public special meeting of the municipal council on the controversial savings bank closure scheduled for October 26th will not take place after all.
Background: At the mediation of the member of the state parliament, Martin Bachhuber, a meeting between the municipality and the savings bank took place in the meantime, at which both sides presented their arguments and wishes again in detail.
The parties involved have agreed not to disclose the course of the conversation.
The savings bank is now being advised internally, and a decision is to be made by mid-November.

The Sparkasse was represented at the meeting by its board members Renate Waßmer, Thorsten Straubinger and Christian Spindler.

The signature campaign is not the first in the southern district.
There had already been widespread protest against the closure in Bad Heilbrunn.
