Icking

- The local council recently decided to erect a cell phone mast at the

Icking

sports field.

The SPD does not want to accept that.

Last weekend, she let three balloons rise to a height of 35 to 40 meters to show how high the mast will be.

According to information from local chairwoman Beatrice Wagner, passers-by were horrified.

The local association does not understand that "of all places where we are blessed with the gift of a breathtaking landscape and an award-winning architect has harmoniously integrated a beautiful sports facility, such a disgraceful mast should be erected," says Wagner.

The local association takes offense at the planned 9.5 by 9.5 meter concrete foundation, the parking lot and the company building, "for which the little wood at the side of the tennis facility has to be cleared".

The comrades remind you that this is only one of four masts that are to be built in the immediate vicinity in the near future. Something similar is planned for Schlederloh, Wadlhausen and Mörlbach on the district border. "So Icking will be surrounded by monsters in the future," says Wagner. She advocates that Vodafone and Telekom use the Schlederloh location together and that the pole on the sports field is no longer required. Ultimately, the various network operators had agreed on an "optimal use of antenna locations". In order to avoid misunderstandings, Wagner explains that the SPD does not want to prevent the expansion of mobile communications. "But the health and townscape issues must be taken into account."
