The SSW will elect a new chairman on Saturday at a state party conference (9 a.m.) in Harrislee near Flensburg.
Flemming Meyer will not run again after 16 years at the head of the South Schleswig voters' association.
The 40-year-old, previous second deputy SSW party leader, Christian Dirschauer, is standing for election.
There were initially no other candidates.
Flensburg - Another central topic at the party congress are the demands of the SSW on the coming federal government.
The state executive submits a resolution proposal at the party congress, the criteria of which can also serve as a basis for how the SSW behaves in the election of the chancellor.

Nikolaus Kramer confirmed as chairman of the AfD parliamentary group
The new AfD parliamentary group in the state parliament re-elected its chairman Nikolaus Kramer after a four-hour session.
Kramer's preferred candidate for the post of Parliamentary Managing Director, Thomas de Jesus Fernandes, on the other hand, had to admit defeat to MP Thore Stein.
"The majority of the parliamentary group decided differently and of course - as it should be - I support this majority decision," said Kramer on Friday after the election.

SSW MP Seidler starts "Mission Bundestag"
The South Schleswig Association of Voters (SSW), the party of the Danish and Frisian minorities, is represented in the Bundestag for the first time in around 70 years.
Stefan Seidler, who was elected to parliament on September 26, picked up his provisional ID card in Berlin on Tuesday afternoon.
He has also already received a notebook and an email address as well as other documents, Seidler told the German Press Agency on Tuesday.

The party of the Danish and Frisian minority had moved into the Bundestag for the first time in around 70 years with a member of the Bundestag.
As a party of a national minority, the SSW is exempt from the five percent hurdle.
