Ecuador is mourning the death of Alex Quiñónez, considered the best sprinter in the country's sports history.
At the age of 32, Quiñónez was assassinated with a firearm on Friday night in Guayaquil, just when a state of exception is in force in Ecuador to stop the escalation of violence and crime in the streets.
Quiñónez became the seventh fastest man in the world at the 2012 London Olympics. Ana María Cañizares tells us about his career.
