For "the fifteenth time in twelve months", as recalled by Jean-Marc Belotti, president of the French Federation of Angry Bikers (FFMC) of Paris and the inner suburbs, hundreds of motorcycle and scooter users demonstrated against the decision passed by the Paris Council on July 6, 2021, to make parking of motorized two-wheelers on public roads payable as of January 1, 2022.

Leaving at 3 p.m. from the Porte Dauphine (16th century), the roaring procession arrived at around 5.15pm on avenue Victoria in front of the forecourt of the Hôtel-de-Ville (4th).

Haranging the crowd of bikers, Jean-Marc Belotti, perched on a van bearing the slogan "Parking: stop racketeering!"

"Denounced" the fundamentalist environmentalists who say that we pollute ".

In parallel with the demonstrations, the FFMC filed on September 20, 2021 before the administrative court, an appeal for annulment of the municipal decree imposing paid parking for motorized two-wheelers.

The administrative judge will not render his decision for several weeks.

“Charging for parking scooters and motorcycles is an unfair measure because it mainly targets suburban residents, pushed out of the capital by excessive rents and who come to work in Paris every day. Unlike Parisians who have the choice between cycling, metro… ”, argues Jean-Marc Belotti. Before attacking "the swindle of the tariff set by the Paris city hall which corresponds to half of the amount requested from motorists. However, since you can put three or four motorcycles in a car parking space, the rate applied to motorized two-wheelers should be divided by four ”.

According to the price list of the Town Hall, bikers will have to pay from January 1, 2022, € 3 per hour to park in the first 11 districts (zone 1) and € 2 in the others (zone 2) . Monthly cards at € 90 (zone 1) or € 70 (zone 2) will be set up for regular visitors who will also pay € 1.20 per hour in zone 1 and 80 cents in zone 2 As for Parisian residents, the annual card will cost them € 22.50 to benefit from a daily rate of 75 cents.

Resolved to continue the fight, Jean-Marc Belotti announced that "the next demonstration against paid parking will take place on Saturday, November 20".

Very lively, the president of the FFMC of Paris and small crown, concluded by invoking the manes of Michel Audiard: “Bikers, that dares everything.

That's why we even recognize them !
