Europe is experiencing an energy shortage. The causes are multiple and, in part, external. The world economy suddenly picked up. Southern China was deprived of hydroelectricity during a period of drought. In China as a whole, coal production has declined due to safety regulations designed to prevent too many accidents. The European winter of 2020-2021, which was long enough, brought down gas stocks, which manufacturers are trying to replenish despite Russian manipulations. In Britain and Germany, a lack of wind in the first half of this year caused wind production to drop. How imprudent to have bet heavily on this random resource! And yet, France wants to emulate this mistake.
