24 people involved in a 15 vehicle accident in Florida

Six people were injured after two vehicles, driven by 18-year-olds, collided and the other 13 cars collided in a chain reaction.


Florida Highway Patrol officers are investigating an accident involving 15 vehicles on State Road 417 Saturday night.

At around 9:44 p.m., police received a call to report a massive multi-vehicle collision at milepost 44 in Seminole County.

Of the 24 people who were involved in the accident,

six were taken to a hospital, according to authorities, without serious injuries.

“We trained for this situation, our guys responded quickly.

Both the Seminole Fire Department and the Oviedo Fire Department arrived on the scene to assess and treat patients as quickly as possible, ”said Joel Herrera, Seminole Fire Chief.

Officers said they will review the video of a witness to determine the events that led to the accident.

Authorities said a police officer believes two cars were racing south on 417.
