Out of 5,000 detainees in weapons offenses - 92% of Arab society • From the rate of violence to the amount of weapons: The numbers behind the crime in the Arab public are revealed • Police source for "Israel Today": We will not lay a hand on him - any treatment plan will fail "

The wave of murders that has befallen the Arab sector in Israel in recent months puts those who bear the responsibility for public safety and security on their shoulders with great embarrassment - that is: the police.

Although the police and the Ministry of Internal Security are working on plans and reinforcements, the quantities of weapons - most of which have been seized in the sector since the beginning of the year - tell the whole story.

"In the Arab sector there is a slick of ammunition that can be used as an IDF division," a police source told Israel Today, And they will report - any plan is doomed to failure. "

A total of 34,000 weapons were seized by October this year, including 11,273 bullets, 210 bullets and 9,216 pods in the Arab sector alone. 6,017 ammunition items were found in the Arab sector and another 1,681 in the Jewish sector. 464 fireworks were seized among Arabs, compared with 64 among Jews. 500. Rifles and 500 pistols were found in the sector, as well as 408 plastic containers for Molotov cocktails (compared with only two for Jewish criminals).

Other difficult and exclusive data that reached Israel Today indicate that ten women who were murdered in family disputes were not involved in crime at all, but paid with their lives.

Five women were murdered for reasons of "family honor."

Eight men were shot accidentally or because they were near criminals and hit by a stray bullet.

Familiar rhetoric

Last week, the police and various government ministries launched an operation called "Safe Track".

This is an activity similar to the one in which the crime leaders entered the prisons in the past, and it includes an economic and criminal assault at the same time.

Still, the police do not yet have the full cooperation of all the heads of the sector.

While the public responsibility for crime in the sector rests with the police, the organization clarifies in closed conversations that the problem of violence in Arab society is deep and requires treatment and mobilization of other factors, including parents and educators, religious, spiritual and academic leadership, and local leadership.

"We will significantly strengthen the Israeli citizen's sense of security and strengthen deterrence and governance," the police promise, in rhetoric that sounds familiar.

"Deciphering the murders in society is not a simple task," the police admit, "the police face many challenges during the investigation, from lack of cooperation on the part of the citizens to vague murder scenes."

Last week, five murders were solved in Arab society, and in a quick police operation, another murder case of a young woman in the north was prevented and dozens of other murders were thwarted.

In the past week, 30 weapons were found in police operations.

In recent years, more than 600 police officers working in Arab localities have been recruited, and eight new police stations and six "police" points have been opened.

All of these, of course, do not yet help eradicate this violence.
