In preparation for the approval of the Corona vaccine for children aged 11-5 in a few days at the FDA, the Ministry of Health admits that there are not enough doses in the country that are suitable for a dose suitable for children.

A senior health ministry official explained to Walla!

Because as part of the preparations for the vaccine for children, in Israel it will be necessary to purchase the vials that are suitable for the vaccine dose, and not to use the existing stock of the adult vaccine.

This step, he said, is intended to prevent confusion between the various doses for children and adults.

"The dose of a vaccine for children is three-quarters of an dose of an adult vaccine, but they too will receive the vaccine in two doses at a distance of 21 days," said a senior health ministry official.

He added that they are in talks to purchase the appropriate vials, which currently do not exist in Israel.

Meanwhile, Maccabi HMO published new morbidity data among ages 5-11, in which no side effects were recorded.

These are children who have already been vaccinated within the framework of an exceptions committee and in accordance with the doctors' recommendation, after their parents applied for their vaccination despite their age, and due to their medical condition.

According to published data, out of 74 children vaccinated in the first dose, two children became infected with corona before receiving the second dose.

Of the children vaccinated in the second dose, there were no infections at all.

Will receive the vaccine in two doses at an interval of 21 days.
