Nuremberg - On Wednesday (October 20) there were 43 corona * patients in inpatient treatment at the Nuremberg Clinic, seven of them in the intensive care unit.

"That has increased again, it has not increased exponentially as in previous waves, that is a good thing, but it is slowly increasing", reports Prof. Dr.

Patients are also getting younger and younger.

Corona difference to previous waves: "Illness often starts more suddenly"

The doctor explains that only unvaccinated patients are in the intensive care unit of his clinic.

Occasionally, vaccinated people would also get corona, but these are people who have limited immune protection.

"The disease is roughly the same as in previous waves," he explains, "but it often begins more suddenly, and patients sometimes come directly from home to the intensive care unit with the emergency doctor."

For the medical staff, the stress is high, especially the emotional one: “It's suffering, it's dying.” In “most cases” this could be avoided by a vaccination *.

"We all take that home with us and it is difficult for us," the chief doctor continued in the video.
