The Belgian conductor Martijn Dendievel has won the German Conductor Award 2021.
The artist, born in 1995, was chosen by a jury of musicians, conductors and artistic directors on Saturday evening after a final concert in the Cologne Philharmonic.
Aivis Greters from Latvia came in second.
The South Korean Hangyul Chung was placed third.
