Hulta said at the meeting that the reference to the climate crisis as an issue of national security will be reflected in four aspects: emergencies such as fires and floods for which Israel is particularly vulnerable, the impact of the climate crisis on terrorism, immigration, stability in the region and IDF readiness, making Israel an international center of innovation. Meanwhile, ahead of the climate conference, the government today (Sunday) approved the plan to accelerate infrastructure projects, as part of preparations for the climate crisis and the removal of barriers in the field of waste, recycling and energy.

The plan, proposed by Bennett, Elharar and Zandberg, will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as part of the fight against the climate crisis.

As part of the plan, a task force will be set up, headed by the Director General of the Prime Minister's Office, to promote the establishment and implementation of large-scale projects of national importance in the field of infrastructure, with the aim of meeting the transition to a low-carbon economy for 2030 and 2050.

The team will discuss infrastructure projects that will help address the climate crisis, including issues of green energy, storage and transmission of electricity, including electricity generation projects combined with agricultural crops and land use.

The team will also discuss waste and recycling projects, including waste sorting and treatment facilities in accordance with the Ministry of Environmental Protection's waste treatment policy.

The team will also discuss projects that help prepare for natural disasters and extreme events such as fires and floods, and will work to formulate solutions and policy measures to remove the barriers to their implementation.

In addition, the decision anchors the Minister of Energy's announcement regarding the establishment of a government forum for renewable energies headed by it.

The forum is expected to convene tomorrow with the participation of CEOs of all relevant government ministries.

The proposed plan will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as part of the fight against the climate crisis.

There are a number of other actions that we are examining and will announce later when they mature."
