Schliersee - The Schliersee people have to pay more for their drinking water.

From November 1.98 euros per cubic meter will be charged.

The water contributions were the problem child of the Schliersee town hall for a long time.

The earlier tax authorities simply did not want to succeed in making the calculation in such a way that the income covered the expenditure.

It only worked better when the municipality had the calculation done by the Bavarian Municipal Auditing Association.

The calculation for the past few years was correct

This is also the case now: Schliersee was around 50,000 euros annually in the past few years, which is close to a precision landing with sales of almost 1.3 million euros per year.

Now it was time to set the contributions for the next four years, and the local council decided to increase both the basic fee and the consumption costs a little.

The alternatives would have been to increase only one or only the other.

Basic fee increases by 20 percent

Instead of 1.78 euros per cubic meter of drinking water, 1.98 euros will be due from November 1st, an increase of eleven percent.

The basic fee increases by 20 percent, which means for the vast majority of households (2160 meters) in Schliersee: 191 instead of 159 euros are due.

The fees for larger water meters (43 pieces), for example in hotels, increase the fees in the same way.

The local council unanimously followed a recommendation of the finance committee.

Two thirds of the money required are covered by consumption charges

The market will need around 1.26 million euros next year to cover the costs for drinking water.

Ascending trend.

In addition to the maintenance of the pipeline system, there are also operating and personnel costs, and investments need to be paid for, as well as the long-planned renovation of the Rißbauer elevated tank.

The municipality collects a little more than a third of the calculated costs through the basic fee, the rest through consumption.

Compensation for the last annual shortfall of 54,000 euros is also priced in.

No to the pure basic fee increase

The alternative of only reaching the basic fee would have the charm that second home owners would have to contribute proportionally more to maintaining the infrastructure.

On the other hand, one-person households - such as seniors - or single parents would also be hit harder, argued Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer (CSU).
