Peter Schlecht, who has been a councilor for the Free Voting Community Seefeld since 25, is stepping down from his position.

The reason for this is the increasing overlap between community and private interests.

Christian Ruf is to be sworn in as his successor next Tuesday.

Seefeld

- The fact that a local council resigns from office happens again and again. The fact that he does it because he fears increasing bias is a first, at least in Seefeld: Peter Schlecht (63), managing director of the sawmill of the same name, is retiring as a councilor. The 32-year-old master butcher and business economist Christian Ruf will be sworn in as his successor next Tuesday.

“In the next few years, the interests of the municipality, business and private interests will overlap. It would be inconvenient if I were also a local councilor, ”Schlecht explained to the Starnberg Mercury on Friday. His company, which he has already handed over to his son, is growing steadily. “That is nice, but it also has to do with space requirements.” When it comes to special areas, he has to appear as an interested party. “When we get the space, it will say that I have fortified it for us.” In addition, there are family-owned spaces in which the community is interested, but which are directly adjacent to the company. “We don't need them ad hoc. But as they say: You can't leave anything around the house. ”At the“ Hazienda ”restaurant on Moosdorfstrasse in Oberalting, which belongs to his wife, the development plan has been put on hold."But that too should continue to be operated."

However, things remain closely interwoven. Because Christian Ruf is the nephew of Peter Schlecht's wife. With FWG parliamentary group spokesman Josef Wastian, a long-time employee of Schlecht will also be on the local council in the future. Like brother-in-law Thomas Ruf (also FWG).

“Looked at that way, I should never have started it. I can't stop some from thinking that way. But if I stayed it would be even worse, ”said Schlecht. He always tried to keep issues related to the parish council out of the family. He also spent many meetings in the hallway, for example when it came to negotiations on family-owned land in Oberalting. “In addition, you have to leave as long as people are saying: What a shame.” He is very happy that Christian Ruf, a trader, is joining us. “The mix in the local council is very important.” He always “exercised the office with pride and hopefully for the good of the community”.

Schlecht regards the realization of the industrial park on Jahnweg as one of the greatest successes. But he also got in a lot of trouble for the purchase of another space there, which he later initiated. However, it turned out to be the right decision. He always quickly forgot less good times in the local council. But of course there were sleepless nights. “What disappoints me most is undemocratic behavior, for example in connection with the new clinic building.” He is also often inferior, so you have to come to terms with that. "But to follow suit, that annoys me." In the local elections, Schlecht ran in sixth place. The FWG increased by 1.7 to 23.1 percent and since then has been the strongest parliamentary group alongside the Greens / BI with five seats.

Mayor Klaus Kögel regrets Schlecht's decision.

“But given the mixed bag, that's probably the right way to go,” he says.

Bad is a veteran.

“He has a knowledge that is second to none.

And of course an unbelievable network and contacts - I will miss that very much. ”However, he would seek his advice and always accept it,“ we have already agreed that ”.

Christian Ruf was not available on Friday.

He ran for 12th place on the list in the 2020 local elections.

The swearing-in will take place during the municipal council meeting on Tuesday, October 26th, in the Peter and Paul house in Oberalting.

The meeting begins around 7.40 p.m., before that, at 7.30 p.m., the building committee meets.
