Berlin - The seven-day incidence in Germany has exceeded 100 for the first time since mid-May.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) stated the number of new Corona * infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Sunday morning as exactly 106.3.

For comparison: the day before the value was exactly 100, a week ago it was 72.7.

The health authorities in Germany reported 13,732 new corona infections to the RKI within one day.

This is evident from the numbers that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 4:26 a.m.

A week ago the value was 8,682 infections.

One reason for this is the longer transmission routes between the RKI and the responsible health authorities.

The RKI's Covid-19 dashboard can also be adjusted during the day.

Corona in Germany (October 24, 2021): RKI reports 23 deaths in connection with Covid-19

The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days - the most important parameter for a possible tightening of the corona restrictions - was given by the RKI on Friday at 2.68 (Thursday 2.45).

With the indicator it must be taken into account that hospital admissions are sometimes reported with delay.

A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences.

The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time.

Corona in Germany (October 24, 2021): 95,100 people have died

The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 4,206,400.

The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 95,100.
