Damascus-SANA
Today, the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection issued a decision setting the selling price of domestic and industrial butane gas cylinders for consumers and for all sectors outside the electronic card.
According to the decision, which SANA received a copy of, the selling price of a 10 kg “domestic” gas cylinder for the distributing agencies was set at 29,682 Syrian pounds to be sold to the consumer at 30,600 Syrian pounds, while the selling price of a 16-kg “industrial” cylinder for the distributing agencies was set at 45570 Syrian pounds to be sold at 49,000 Syrian pounds.
The decision indicated that the mentioned selling prices apply to all public authorities of an administrative and economic nature, municipalities, and administrative and subsidiary units.
The decision confirmed that these prices do not apply to gas cylinders sold via the electronic card, and that violators of the provisions of this decision are subject to the penalties stipulated in Legislative Decree No. 8 of 2021.
This decision came to put an end to the black market, in which the price of the cylinder reached 100,000 Syrian pounds, in addition to preventing manipulation of the weight and specifications of the cylinder, according to the ministry.
