After hours of anxious searching, a bird lover, with the help of the Erfurt fire brigade, was able to embrace his escaped parrot “Rio” again.
The rescue workers took the blue and yellow bird with a turntable ladder from a 15 meter high tree on Saturday evening.
At noon, the owner reported to the police - his animal, about one meter tall, had just flown into town.
Erfurt - But the search was unsuccessful.
Hours later, a walker reported that she had spotted a brightly colored bird in the top of a tree.
The police and the owner rushed to the site, but "Rio" refused to be lured from the tree.
So the fire brigade had to use their turntable ladder - which, according to the police, will now cost the owner around 260 euros.
