The fire brigade in Rinteln (district of Schaumburg) rescued three people and a cat from a burning apartment building on Saturday evening.
The fire broke out in the building for an initially unknown cause, as a police spokesman said on Sunday.
Accordingly, the house became uninhabitable due to the fire, but the amount of damage could not initially be specified.
Rinteln - The residents of the house, an elderly lady and a married couple, were not injured.
The couple stayed in a hotel, the lady in a care facility.
The woman's cat was also unharmed and was placed in an animal shelter.
