The “Haneen” theater group, in cooperation with the Local Community Development Association in As-Suwayda, presented interactive theatrical performances within the framework of the art of clowning in public places as part of an experiment that is the first of its kind.
The performances that were held in the lobby of the Suwayda City Council and in front of one of the hostels included a small carnival on foot, accompanied by playing and singing, which included purposeful comic sketches that dealt with various topics, mostly social, health and others, directed to all age and social groups with the aim of planting a smile and laughter on people’s faces, especially under the current circumstances. Hanin Troupe director and director of performances Firas Hatem explained to SANA reporter that clowning is one of the ancient and ancient arts that belong to the street theater that goes to people and not the other way around, pointing out the importance of shedding light on this type of art and conveying it to people in light of the need for comedy and laughter.
Hatem explained that the band presented its performances through 10 clowns and clowns who were trained in academic workshops that lasted for three months.
For her part, a member of the Board of Directors of the Local Community Development Association, Reham Abu Al-Fadl, pointed out that the activity comes within the framework of supporting creative and ambitious youth and in line with the association's objectives in supporting talent, creativity and the arts in general.
From the audience, Noura, Maha Bouhasas and Fadi Fleihan described the idea as new and characterized by its aesthetic and spontaneity, especially as it represents an opportunity to introduce joy and recreation.
