The accident happened on Saturday at around 5:30 a.m. just before the Kolbentunnel near Oberammergau.
Why the red VW vehicle got off the road is still unclear.
The driver of the car was slightly injured, the vehicle was seriously damaged and had to be towed away.
Since a lot of car parts and splinters were scattered on the roadway, the road maintenance department had a lot to do with the clearance.
Around 30 emergency services from the Oberammergau volunteer fire brigade were on duty.
During the clean-up work, they set up a diversion via Oberammergau.
