The Israeli government on Sunday made the fight against global warming a priority of

and pledged to

investments in green energies, a few days before the opening of COP26.

“The fight against global warming is a new national security interest for Israel,”

he said in a statement from Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's office.

Last June, the new coalition government led by Bennett set the country the goal of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 27% by 2030 and by 85% by 2050, compared to 2015 level.
