A new experience
For the nude model this is pure routine, for the participants it is a new experience.
Before the covers fall, the 40-year-old man with a well-trained figure chats a little out of the sewing box of his everyday work.
He is a professional.
He lives from posing as God created him.
It was already an overcoming when he took off his clothes for the first time at the VHS course.
“The urgent question arose: How and where do I change here in the classroom?” He says with a smile.
Because the act of undressing, he knows from experience, is for many the more erotic moment than actually being naked.
The artist wants to study the anatomy of the human body
Silys found his technique.
He discreetly takes off his kimono on his back and takes the first pose that evening, for example as a movement element with muscle tension or as simple everyday situations, such as sitting with a book in hand.
A lady wants to know whether you have to have a top figure for this job.
It doesn't matter at all, explains Silys, whether old, young, man or woman - the artist wants to learn the anatomy of the human body with all its beauty and transience.
Nude painting is a special challenge.
To dare to look closely, to measure proportions with a pencil in hand on the outstretched arm - also the detail that distinguishes man and woman.

"It is now important for you to let go of the mind and everyday thoughts and to find patience for the painting process", explains course leader Hülya von Poswik matter-of-factly.
Painting is like meditation.
The positions in nude painting are limited in time to five to a maximum of ten minutes.
The sketches - in pencil, charcoal or oil - must therefore be constructed quickly and boldly.
Poswik's course instructor shows the first steps.
Head and body posture are constructed in lines, circles and cylinders.
Only when the proportions and posture are right can the picture be formulated with light and shadow.
Nude painting - a challenge
It's been quiet in the studio for a long time.

Classical painting is difficult, and nude painting is a particular challenge.
