Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU) calls on the new federal government to abide by the contract when the coal phase out.
"We have special interests in Central Germany that jobs are not simply lost and that we get a shock in the region," he said on Sunday, "MDR Aktuell".
In addition, Germany needs a sustainable energy supply.
Berlin - In the exploratory paper, the parties agreed, among other things, that the coal phase-out "ideally" should be achieved by 2030 and that the expansion of renewable energies should be pushed forward.
So far, the coal phase-out is planned by 2038 at the latest.
