Münsing's community center, tourism, traffic: there are many topics in the community on Lake Starnberg.

Mayor Michael Grasl informs at the citizens' meeting.

Münsing - The community of Münsing with currently 4,346 inhabitants is to develop "slowly and moderately".

Mayor Michael Grasl (Free Voters) said this in the town hall on Wednesday evening in the community hall.

Around 80 visitors came in compliance with the 3G rule.

Grasl rated the interest as gratifying.

Münsing: community center, tourism, traffic - much need for discussion at the citizens' meeting

At the moment, a lot is developing in Münsing, especially the community center, which has been under construction since this summer for around 21.5 million euros.

This should go hand in hand with a strengthening of the place with its still intact shops, restaurants and cafes.

To this end, the municipality, together with the neighboring municipality of Eurasburg, participates in the state funding program Integrated Urban Development Concept (ISEK).

Münsing: Despite the traffic, the mayor wants more quality of stay

You couldn't change the fact that Münsing is a street village with a state road right through it, said Grasl.

But one could try to improve the quality of stay (see box below left).

The challenge of the future is to control healthy growth, where possible to create building areas for locals and still preserve the uniqueness of the community.

That is not always easy in view of the many building requests on the outskirts.

The mayor sees another important task in expanding the stock of rental apartments in municipal hands.

On the one hand they are urgently needed, on the other hand they represent a secure source of income. Grasl: "We can not only build things that cost money."

Senior care: Planned senior citizen pen is under criticism

What is also missing in the larger community is day care for older citizens.

Such a facility is to be built under the umbrella of the senior citizens' home in Ambach, but a referendum has been made against the project of the Kuratorium Wohnen im Alter (KWA), as reported.

The community is involved in day care in Seeshaupt, but a transport service there failed due to a lack of drivers, said Grasl.

He called on property owners and private sponsors to set up a day care facility in the community independently of KWA.

"We can't do it ourselves."

Tourism on Lake Starnberg: "We live from that too," says Münsing's mayor

For the town hall chief, tourism is part of the lake community: “We live on it too.” Locals should not regard guests as a nuisance.

In order to get a better grip on the flow of visitors, the Ambach recreation area is taking part in a traffic control project.

Seestrasse will continue to be a magnet for foreign cyclists.

They are welcomed when they "behave properly".

The road is not a hotspot for accidents, stressed Grasl.

Traffic in Münsing: cyclists criticize road projects

Holzhauser Strasse is currently being expanded. A citizen asked why a bike path was not being built in parallel. Grasl replied that the renovation would have been significantly delayed if the municipality had also had to purchase the land for a cycle path. A connection from Holzhausen to Münsing was expressed as a wish in the cycle path concept. In this context, a citizen from Weipertshausen criticized the fact that Weipertshausener Strasse in the direction of Allmannshausen should also be expanded into a "high-speed road". Therefore, property owners did not want to give up any reason for a cycle path alongside the road. A Münsinger suggested building sleepers in town to slow down car traffic. Traffic expert Reiner Neumann countered that thresholds were very loud for residents. Soft, optical obstacles would be better, how they successfully use Denmark, for example.

Wind power in Münsing: Grasl wants to wait for the 10H decision

The poor condition of the parish hall on Pilotyweg in Ambach had been criticized in writing prior to the meeting.

According to Grasl, the apartments are to be renovated in the next five to ten years.

Before that, the congregation does not make it in view of its other tasks.

Because of the high birth rate, this includes the conversion of the town hall into a “children's house” before the community center is completed.

When asked whether the municipality wanted to promote the expansion of wind power - ten years ago two possible locations on the borders with Icking and Eurasburg were specified in the regional plan - Grasl said he would wait and see if the government deviated from the 10H rule again .

"Personally, I remain open to wind power."

The energy transition was also related to an inquiry about the charging station at the Münsingen sports field.

In the absence of competition, it is so expensive that it is not worth charging your e-vehicle there, writes the author of the inquiry.

Grasl explained that the provider of the charge card demanded so much money.

They also want to install an e-filling station at the new community center and examine alternative providers.
