After the failure last year, Christmas markets are supposed to spread Christmas flair again this year.

Provided that the government guidelines allow it.

At the moment the organizers are confident.

Tegernseer Tal - “As of today, we would like to hold the Nikolausmarkt”, says Gmund's mayor Alfons Besel. The date would be December 5th. In order to breathe life into the market, the stalls should not be set up in front of the town hall this year, but in the school playground. “We will decide in the next two weeks which hygiene rules and requirements should apply,” says Besel.

In Kreuth, too, there should be sparkling lights and shared mulled wine enjoyment again this year. The Christmas market there only takes place every two years, this year it is the turn of the series. “The clubs have decided that they want to do it,” reports Mayor Josef Bierschneider. The market, which traditionally takes place on the first Sunday in Advent, is organized by FC Real Kreuth. A total of 14 local associations help. So far, FC chairman Max Breunig has assumed that the recently published regulation for Christmas markets will continue to exist. Accordingly, there would be no 3G or mask requirement for visitors outdoors. “But what happens in two weeks remains to be seen,” says Breunig. If there were still new requirements on the part of the government, that would not be in the hand.

The conditions under which the three large Advent markets in Tegernsee, Rottach-Egern and Bad Wiessee will take place will be finally decided next week at a mayor's official meeting.

"Due to the high incidence, our recommendation is still to apply the 3G rule," says Peter Rie, event manager at Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT).
