With the help of an undercover agent: senior members of Domrani's organization were indicted (Walla system!)

An undercover agent led to the indictment and arrest of 34 people suspected of drug trafficking through the "Telegrass" network - the police announced today (Sunday).

Some of the suspects arrested belong to Shalom Domrani's criminal organization, and some are considered senior members of the organization.

The covert investigation was conducted by the Lachish Central Unit in the Southern District and lasted four months.

The investigation ended tonight with the arrest of the suspects, all aged 40-16, residents of Ashdod, Ashkelon, Kiryat Malachi, Kiryat Gat and Sderot.

Police said most of the detainees belong directly to criminal organizations and operate under their auspices.

The undercover agent, nicknamed "Alpha" by his operatives, operated in the Ashkelon sector and led to the indictment of the suspects, who operated "lines" of drug trafficking through the "Telegrass" network. Police said the agent underwent training tailored to the criminal figure built for him, which allowed him to penetrate the circle of criminals and establish his status among them.

The agent was sent by the operators of the SAR to carry out a variety of transactions with intelligence targets, and was identified as operating the drug trafficking lines, and pouring money directly into the organizations and criminal gangs, while also using youths to carry out the transactions. The agent managed to purchase dangerous drugs of the "crystal" type and marijuana worth tens of thousands of shekels, and indicted 34 suspects.

In the early hours of the morning, police forces, including Lachish Lt. Col., Yoav Unit, Border Police fighters and the dog unit, raided the suspects' homes, where dangerous drugs, pistol weapons, stun grenades and vehicles were seized, and arrested for questioning in the Lachish Area Central Unit.

As part of the arrest operation, three suspects, residents of Ashkelon, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in a shooting incident on October 16, 2021 on Roots Street in Ashkelon, amid a criminal dispute and a struggle for control of drug lines, in which a person was injured and sought medical treatment.

"Another record day in our fight against serious crime in Israel," said Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai during the unveiling ceremony of the operation.

"The agent, who operated for months without the knowledge of his relatives, friends and family, succeeded in incriminating 34 drug trafficking suspects and thus collapsing a network that rolled millions of shekels, which were used to strengthen the criminals and harm hundreds and thousands of residents in the south."
