Since being discovered in "The Next Star" about a year and a half ago, Or Amrami Brockman has not stopped working.
In February he will enlist in a military band, and in the meantime he has released three singles, to be photographed for a musical TV series that will air here 11, and now he is also coming to the theater for the first time with a re-production of the classic "The Sixteenth Lamb" at Habima Theater.
The play was written by Michael Gurevitch based on Jonathan Geffen's book of songs from 1978, and the play includes the songs with the original melodies and arrangements by Yoni Rechter that appeared on the album that followed the book.
The director is Moshe Kaftan, the musical director is Lior Ronen and the actors are Amrami Brockman, Tal Musari, Nir Zlichovsky, Noam Kleinstein, Roni Merhavi and more.
"It's a start in theater that is inconceivable to me," says Amrami Brockman, "a first role on stage, which is a place I came to as a child to see plays with my parents. I grew up in theater, and it's a huge privilege for me that Moshe Kaftan took me to be a part of it. "Crazy in my eyes. And this theater has become a family, the atmosphere here is very warm."
What songs do you perform in the show?
"I sing along with everyone 'Who's Looking Who's Behind' and 'I Love Chocolate', 'Good Night' I sing with Noam Kleinstein. I'm insanely excited. As a kid we had a CD of 'The Sixteenth Lamb' and I listened to all the songs. It's "He used to run at our house. I grew up on this music, and now to perform with these songs is a hallucination. When I came to rehearsals on the second day, I saw Yoni Rechter! Yoni Rechter asked me how I was and praised me for singing. It was a formative experience. He is a humble and charming person."
The musical combines acting and singing. Is that your direction? Both acting and music?
"I love the stage. It's a satisfaction that is hard to describe in words, when the lights are on and you are on stage and it does something to whoever is sitting in the audience."
You will soon be getting to know the less pleasant side of it, with the show running on Hanukkah five times a day.
"I saw the Hanukkah show schedule, it's wow. It's a show that can teach kids a lot. The songs have a very sharp message. At the end of it all we kids, we all dream, and this show allows us to stop the clock and enter another world."
What else are you doing these days?
"My duet with Yam Refaeli will be out soon, and the series 'Echo Your Voice' will air here 11. It's a musical drama about three generations, Grandpa, Dad and I, all musicians in soul and heart, talking about music and many about music and art. There is jealousy and love. The character "Shelly is accepted to a TV show, and it affects life and the relationship with the family. Tom Shoval is a genius director."
