A risky overtaking maneuver on a federal highway in East Hesse led to a head-on collision and a total of five injuries.
A presumably tuned compact car and an SUV were on Saturday lunchtime at "obviously significantly excessive speed" on the left lane of the two-lane federal highway 254 in the direction of Grossenlüder (district of Fulda), as the police report said.
Großenlüder - Shortly before the road becomes single-lane again, they wanted to cut in to the right again.
The compact car succeeded in doing this.
However, the SUV got into oncoming traffic, where it collided with an oncoming small car and then hit the side of a car that it had just overtaken.

The driver of the compact car, presumably a man between 25 and 35 years of age, drove on without worrying about the accident.
The police are looking for him.
The main road was closed for a good four and a half hours on Saturday afternoon.
