A Russian military official announced his country's intention to supply the Russian military base in Tajikistan with about 30 modernized T-72 tanks by the end of this year.
Sputnik news agency quoted Russian Army Colonel Yevgeny Okremenko as saying that there is a "serious tendency to arm the military base units with modern models of military equipment," pointing out that the base personnel have successfully used the new weapons thanks to various exercises.
It is noteworthy that the Russian Defense Ministry delivered Russian military products to Tajikistan as part of the provision of free assistance in September this year.
