Damascus-SANA

Internal and Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Boutros Nasrallah, confirmed that people with strong immunity are not exposed to the black fungus that affects people with weakened immunity, such as cancer patients and those recovering from it, AIDS patients, diabetes and corona patients.

Nasrallah denied any relationship between the black fungus, or as it is called the mold fungus, with Corona disease, as it is rumored on social media, explaining that it affects people who have weak immunity, including Corona patients.

The infectious disease doctor attributed the large number of black fungus infections during the current period to the fact that it is confined to one hospital, pointing out that its danger lies due to its rapid development in the body and the delay in its diagnosis, in addition to its long and costly treatment, but if it is detected early, its risk is lower.

The symptoms of the disease appear, according to the specialist, through redness, deformation, and blueness in one of the body parts, or headaches in the head, with pain in the neck and sinuses, indicating that the diagnosis needs to be carried out by an axial tomography, taking a sample from the affected area and sending it for laboratory autopsy.

Regarding the ways of transmission of black fungus, Dr. Boutros stressed that it is not transmitted from person to person, and the main cause of it is fungi found in the soil, manure and waste, pointing to the importance of adhering to the rules of personal hygiene, cleaning the mucous membranes of the nose and pharynx, cleaning homes, good ventilation, staying away from places of moisture and continuous cleaning, and strengthening the body’s immunity by eating Healthy food to prevent it.
