Strangers cheated an 85-year-old woman in Dresden with a shock call of 15,000 euros.
A man had called the elderly on Friday afternoon and claimed that her daughter had caused a serious traffic accident, the police said on Sunday.
He handed the call over to an alleged public prosecutor, who offered the daughter's release after paying bail.
Dresden - The woman got involved and then handed over her savings to a courier.
She later recognized the fraud in a conversation with a friend and filed a complaint.
