The suspicions against the two arose after he appeared on the website of a well-known Jewish-Messianic group where an event was announced in which they would participate.

The post claimed that the two had previously worked with a well-known Messianic pastor.

On the other hand, the two rabbis allegedly claim that they are not missionaries at all.

They admit to working with the same pastor but describing him as a longtime family member and claiming to have been involved in humanitarian aid.

According to the researchers who conducted the investigation, the two are not Jews at all, and are evangelical Christians, who kept their identities secret.

They claim their original last name was Dawson, and Michael, the father, grew up in a Christian home.

Their family member was asked if they were Jews and answered in the negative, saying that Michael's brother had married in a church and that his mother was a devout Lutheran.

"She is a Lutheran and so is her son John. His wife is a priest. Michael also grew up as a Lutheran."

It should be noted that the two did not deny that they were Messianic Jews and wrote: "We do not reject Jesus, the Jewish Messiah. We have no doubt about the identity of the Messiah."

They argued that they were not missionaries: "We do not support any person or organization that seeks to convert Jews."

The family currently resides in Phoenix Arizona.

Between 2016-2014 they lived in Texas and Michael worked as a supervisor at the Houston Training Agency.

They have also previously lived in Portland, Oregon and Milwaukee.

According to the report, the two were integrated into every community in which they lived, led prayers, blew the shofar, gave religious lessons and hosted Jews.

Investigators from the Jewish organization that conducted the investigation claimed that each time they were suspected, they moved to another country.

It also emerged that during their transitions from state to state, the family members purchased documents proving their Jewish identity, without the competent authorities examining in depth whether they were indeed Jews.

The Benyahu organization believes that they eventually intended to immigrate to Israel through these documents and assimilate into Jewish communities.
