A 21-year-old man from the Rhein-Lahn district is said to have attacked a video library in Lahnstein with a firearm.
According to the police, evidence from witnesses led the authorities to focus on the man and was arrested on Sunday.
The attack had occurred the evening before in the Oberlahnstein district.
Lahnstein - The perpetrator, who was armed with a blank gun, demanded money from the cashier at the video store.
The employee succeeded in knocking the pistol out of his hand.
Nevertheless, the woman was injured "not insignificantly" in the hand by a shot from the alarm gun.
The perpetrator then fled in an unknown direction with a small amount of money.
During a search of his apartment on Sunday in Kamp-Bornhofen, police officers finally discovered the suspected murder weapon and the clothing worn by the alleged perpetrator, it said.
