A garbage bag lying on a street between Fehrbellin and Dammkrug in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district caused several rear-end collisions. The obstacle on Landesstraße 16 initially caused a 41-year-old driver to brake on Saturday. This was overlooked by an 18-year-old driving behind him, who hit the car. A subsequent 18-year-old driver and a 24-year-old also did not see the dangerous situation and hit the car in front of them, as the police announced on Sunday.
Fehrbellin - A 28-year-old car driver kept the required safety distance, but a 57-year-old driving behind her could not stop in time and drove up.
A two-year-old child drove in the young woman's vehicle and was taken to a nearby clinic for an examination as a precaution.
The property damage was estimated by the police at a total of around 12,200 euros - three of the vehicles had to be towed away.
