Ankara, SANA- Two cargo ships collided near the entrance to the Çanakkale Strait in the Marmara Sea, northwest Turkey, causing damage.

Two cargo ships collided near the entrance to the Çanakkale Strait in the Marmara Sea, northwest Turkey, causing material damage but no injuries.

The Anadolu Agency of the Turkish regime stated that "the accident occurred between the 299-meter Benitamo ship, flying the flag of Panama, coming from the Ukrainian port of Yuzhno, carrying iron ore, and its destination is the Chinese port of Shanghai, and the 172-meter Sea Vanessa ship, flying the flag of Barbados, departing from the Bulgarian port of Varna, carrying wheat towards Egypt.

According to the navigational sources, inspections of the safety of the two ships are continuing at the scene of the accident, while investigations are being conducted to find out the causes and circumstances of the accident.
