"A consistent mask requirement in schools in combination with close-knit testing is certainly an effective means, but it should not be limited to just two weeks," he told the German Press Agency in Wiesbaden.

For fear of rising corona numbers, the Ministry of Culture announced two prevention weeks with more tests and stricter mask requirements for the start of school on Monday.

From October 25th to November 5th, the pupils have to wear a mask in class.
In addition, all non-vaccinated children and adolescents must demonstrate a negative corona test three instead of twice a week in order to participate in face-to-face classes.
