Spanish scientists have achieved a medical revolution by restoring sight to a blind woman many years ago.

The scientists pointed out that the operation was completely safe, stressing that the implantation of electrodes in the patient's brain does not affect the area of the brain around the visual cortex.
The operation is not the first in which a blind patient has been treated with a revolutionary technology to try to restore sight. In May 2021, a partially blind man regained his sight after scientists used a form of gene therapy to control the activity of neurons.
