A young woman from the south died during a "exorcism" ceremony, a well-known sheikh and her husband were arrested

The death of the young woman, a resident of Tel Sheva, was determined two days ago after she collapsed during a treatment performed by the suspected sheikh.

Following the case, the police opened an investigation, and her body was transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine.

The two suspects, aged 64 and 32, will be brought in to extend their detention

Two residents of Tel Sheva were arrested last night (Monday) on suspicion of involvement in the death of a 26-year-old woman who was injured on Tuesday during a "exorcism" treatment performed by one of the suspects, a well-known sheikh in the Bedouin sector.

After being brought to a local clinic in the locality, she was treated by the second suspect, a doctor from her family.

Shortly afterwards, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

This morning, the two residents, the 64-year-old sheikh and the 32-year-old doctor, will be brought to the Magistrate's Court in Be'er Sheva to extend their detention.

In addition, the young woman's husband, a 25-year-old resident of the Diaspora, is also suspected of involvement in the incident and will be brought before the court during the day.

Police opened an investigation into the case after the young woman was pronounced dead at the local clinic, and her body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for autopsy.

As the investigation progressed, town police officers arrested the two male residents.
