Because of the corona pandemic, there was no market Sunday in Olching for a long time.

Now hundreds of people strolled through the streets of Amperstadt again.

The visitors were happy that something was finally going on again - but also largely paid attention to compliance with the corona rules.

Olching

- Numerous people stroll from sales stand to sales stand on the main street.

The smell of roasted almonds and fish on a stick fills the air.

After a long Corona break, there is another Sunday shopping in Olching.

“You can finally get out again.

Life has started again, ”says Helena Schmied.

She and her companion Rudi Sonnenholzner have just bought fresh fruit.

Despite the joy of the event, the two remain cautious.

"If you look at the current numbers, it's not so funny," says Sonnenholzner.

They therefore try to keep a distance of 1.5 meters and do not walk on the street, but on the sidewalk behind the stands.

The crowd is not that big there.

Market Sunday: The mask is included

Roswitha and Peter Theobald enjoy strolling between the stands in blue skies and sunshine: “You have to be a little careful, but you can't lock everything up for decades,” says Peter Theobald. The fact that market Sunday also takes place outdoors is an advantage: “It's not as dangerous there as inside.” And if the crowd gets too big for them, they have their masks with them.

Around 70 dealers have set up their stands on Hauptstrasse and Feursstrasse.

Herbert Kraft is among them.

He is very busy: after filling a balloon with helium for a little boy, he advises two young women which hat from his range suits them best.

"I'm very satisfied.

There are many people there who are happy that there is another market Sunday. ”Kraft praised the city for the organization.

“Other municipalities like Fürstenfeldbruck do not yet dare.

That's sad."

Market Sunday: Off to the cake stand

Heide Sailer and Klaus Lorenz struck gold across the street and bought a can of sausages. During the Corona period, the two Olchingers missed the event. “We are regular customers and we always go to the open market on Sundays.” Visiting some stands is a must for them to replenish their supplies. Now they are curious to see whether the cake stand on the other side of the railway underpass will also be back. “Everything is so delicious there,” says Heide Sailer.

A few meters further on, Richard and Petra Hackenberg try some cheese bites. The two came specially from Dachau. “It's good that Olching dares to organize a market Sunday. It's particularly nice here that you can stroll along so far, ”says Petra Hackenberg. Despite all the joy of getting out again, the two are still a bit reluctant. “You don't know who has been vaccinated. That's why we're already looking at the distance, ”says Richard Hackenberg.

The city's official rules stipulate a minimum distance of 1.5 meters.

If this is not observed, a mask is required.

But hardly anyone wears one.

One of the few who has mouth and nose protection on is Peter Hüttinger.

He stands in the long queue in front of the bratwurst stand and says: “Unfortunately, Corona is not over yet.

That's why I'm a bit more cautious. ”However, the market Sunday in Olching is relatively extensive, so that one can avoid the greatest crowds.

"It is really a highlight for me because nothing could take place for so long."
