Maccabi Tel Aviv football coach Patrick Van Leven was fired tonight (Monday to Tuesday) after the team lost 0: 2 tonight to CBS Ashdod.
This was stated tonight in an official announcement issued by the group.
Due to the upheaval caused by the dismissals, at this stage Barak Yitzhaki will function as the interim coach, until the signing of a contract with a new coach.
Van Leven was fired after the team experienced a lame season opener and lost four games in the first seven rounds of the season.

Owner Mitch Goldhaar commented on the dismissal and said: "Patrick has made a significant contribution to the Maccabi Tel Aviv football club since joining as head of the youth department and executive director. Since joining Maccabi Tel Aviv more than 5 years ago, Patrick has shown high work ethic and loyalty to the club. "I thank him. I wish Patrick good luck in the future."
