Autonomous Tesla? Updates and regrets

2021-10-25T13:13:29.745Z

Tesla has sent an update to users who have moved to improve semi-autonomous capability. After one day the update was canceled. Musk: "I see some issues with the new version, we will return to the previous one temporarily"

Tesla has not stopped producing headlines, of any kind and another one like this has jumped in recent days.

Less than a day after Tesla sent an update to some users, which included a beta version for fully independent driving of the vehicle (FSD), Tesla cancels the update and returns to the previous version.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, commented on the matter on his Twitter account: "I see some problems with version 10.3, so we will return to 10.2 temporarily, he added that" it is expected with beta software.

It is not possible to test all hardware configurations in all conditions with an internal QA, hence the exit to a public beta version. "

Social networks popped up users, who were among those who received the said update.

According to these Tesla vehicles with the latest software have repeatedly provided forward collision warnings when there was no immediate danger.

Others complained that some of the vehicles also activated brakes automatically for no reason while others reported a loss of autonomous capability during the ride.

It should be noted that the said beta version was distributed to 2,000 selected Tesla owners and is irrelevant in many countries, including Israel.

This story comes when Tesla is undergoing a regulatory review regarding the safety of its semi-autonomous driving technology, which it calls “FSD”.

At Tesla, which calls its state-of-the-art driving aid package "Auto-Pilot," it seems they are not thrilled by the fire.

And still keep in mind that technology today allows different vehicles semi-autonomous driving on highways, or park themselves, but, and this is a big but - all these require a vigilant driver behind the wheel, regardless of the name given by the manufacturer to its advanced systems.

Tesla's latest update is expected to increase the car's autonomous capacity range to residential and urban areas as well.

This is a slightly more complicated task.

And here too the name may mislead the user.

And despite the impressive name (FSD) that ensures 'fully independent driving' the autonomous car by industry or regulatory definitions, is still a long way off for Tesla as well.
