"I am very curious to see whether you have the courage to print this letter." - We read this sentence from time to time.
However, it has no influence on the publication of a letter to the editor.
The publication depends on other factors: the (impeccable) content and the space available or the number of letters to the editor.
Apart from the fact that it hardly takes any special courage to publish a letter to the editor, provided that the usual criteria are correct, the sentence is often found in letters that we actually do not want to publish, for example because they spread some crude conspiracy theories.
