Grünwalder is bothered by loud leaf blowers

The leaf blowers have the advantage of saving workers a lot of time.

The negative effects, which also exist, have now been addressed in the Grünwalder citizens' assembly.

Grünwald

- Sweeping with a rake and broom takes a long time and is really exhausting.

Therefore, despite loud criticism, the leaf blowers cannot be eradicated.

Olaf Schilling would have liked to have regulated the use of leaf blowers in the community in a more sensible way in the Grünwalder citizens' assembly (we reported).

The constant use of the devices is no longer tied to certain seasons, but extends over the entire year.

It's not just the noise that bothers the Grünwalder.

As far as he knows, bees and other insects are also massively disturbed or simply blown away.

That is completely wrong in times when species protection is taken seriously.

Separate rest periods

With regard to noise, Silvia Fuchs from the Environment Agency referred to separate rest periods during which leaf blowers are not allowed to be used. The municipal noise protection ordinance also applies to private individuals. The devices can only be switched on from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. There are only special restrictions outside of residential areas. The community itself has only used low-noise, battery-operated leaf blowers for years. According to Fuchs, the employees are instructed to “limit their use to a minimum”. Nevertheless, the topic should come up for discussion in the Grünwald administrative committee in order to consider possible further steps. Mayor Jan Neusiedl (CSU) is also not impressed by the leaf blowers and assumes that the vast majority of them do not have a high-quality EC eco-label in private use, which releases from the regulated time restrictions.

Farmer's market could be more attractive with hot food

A suggestion for the farmers market in Grünwald made people sit up and take notice.

Two applicants would have liked to set up a stand there where you can get warm sausages, meat loaf, ice cream and much more.

In winter, mulled wine, otherwise coffee, would be desirable.

The administration, more precisely Fabienne Unterreiner, the head of the regulatory office, referred to the Bavarian Farmers' Association, under whose leadership the market was founded 23 years ago.

The association decides on the selection and the providers on site, but receives the request, and perhaps the guests will soon be able to enjoy warm specialties.

A beer garden on the banks of the Isar is still missing

Another Grünwalder, who would like to see a beer garden on the banks of the Isar, made a similar foray into the culinary world.

The lower terrace of the castle hotel used to be used as a beer garden.

He therefore asked: “Why can't this beautiful terrace be brought back to life?” Anija Schlichenmaier from the building authority took care of the matter and reminded us that such applications have often been made in the past.

But the unclear slope statics and a lack of proof of parking space, which is necessary for an extension of use, led every time to a rejection on the part of the building authority and would not currently lead to anything, since the parking situation is already quite problematic.
