The desire to prove himself again: "I will show everyone who I am as a player and as a person" • The consequences of the injuries: "There were certainly teams that thought of me and decided to get out of it" • And the patience needed to run Tel Aviv: Brown in an interview

Despite high expectations and a quality (but unbalanced) staff, Hapoel Tel Aviv started the season badly, with two losses in the first two rounds, and for tonight's game against Maccabi Rishon LeZion - another team that has not won since the start of the season and looks bad - it comes when the pressure waves Starting to rise.

If there is anyone who can carry the Reds and get back on a positive track is Jacoben Brown.

The 31-year-old guard arrived in the summer with the highest salary on the team, but also with many question marks surrounding his physical condition after almost a full year in which he did not play in Jerusalem, following a shoulder injury.

"I need to provide capacity," Brown told Israel Today in an interview a few weeks ago.

"That's what I love to do and that's what I do all my career. Even after injuries I will show everyone who I am as a player and as a person. My job is to win games for my teams, and that's what I've come to do this season as well."

Many people have doubts about your ability to be fit and healthy for an entire season.

"I've been carrying it all my life. I've heard doubts about it all the time. People have their own opinions and that's fine. I need to talk about the pitch."

"It was tough for me"

Brown was injured in one of the preseason games last summer, and was sidelined for several months.

After consulting with the doctors, he decided not to undergo surgery and began another rehabilitative medical procedure that caused him to be absent until December.

The player returned to the pitches, but soon felt severe pain in his shoulder and was sidelined until the end of the season.

This summer, he underwent extensive medical tests in both the United States and Israel, and after the results showed that he had recovered, he joined Hapoel Tel Aviv.

"It was tough for me. 8-7 hard months for me without basketball. I had a hard time watching friends play the game I love when I sit at home. It was tough but I stayed positive and took care of my LEDs, they made that period easier."

What happened to you when you got injured again, and you realized you would never play again that season?

"I went back to playing and wanted to help my friends, but I felt 50% -40% ability, and I couldn't function. I realized I wasn't helping the team, and from that moment on I knew I had to stop. It was the right decision."

Were you worried that teams would not want to bring you in next season because of the injuries?

"Everyone is scared and I understand that. In the end, as a team you put money on a player, and it's a business, and that's how it works, I do not doubt it. I'm sure there were teams that thought about me and decided to get off it,

You must have been hungry to play again and show your abilities.

"Certainly. Basketball is what I have been doing since I was five. The badge I have already touched to get back to playing and feeling the ball. I hope to stay as healthy as possible and play as much as I can."

Brown has enough experience, and even when everyone around him was enthusiastic about the squad being built and the ability the team displayed in some of the pre-season games, he was not overly excited.

The last two games have shown that he was right.

"We learn from each other and connect, take it day after day and try to grow and understand who we are. Waiting to see how we connect the pieces together, because it's a rebuilt group and things take time."

What are your individual and team goals for the season?

"Have fun with my teammates, stay healthy and win as many games as possible. I know there will be ups and downs, and we need to get through them."
