The first Thuringian jazz camp for young talents in Sondershausen (Kyffhäuserkreis) was canceled prematurely at the weekend due to a positive corona test.
There was a case on the edge of the project, said the managing director of the Landesmusikakademie in Sondershausen, Martina Langenberger, on Monday.
It was then decided to let all 25 musicians between the ages of 13 and 24 go home as a precautionary measure.
Sondershausen - They should have made music together regularly from Friday up to and including Sunday.
The Kyffhäuserkreis has the strongest corona infection in Thuringia.
It is the only district in warning level three.
On Monday, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week, the seven-day incidence, at 404.

The jazz camp "First Steps!", Which took place for the first time at the weekend, is intended to promote the Thuringian offspring and the networking of young jazz musicians in the country.
The young talents from all over Thuringia traveled to Sonderhausen to make music together under the guidance of experienced lecturers and to try their hand at singing or on their jazz instruments, such as saxophone, piano, electric guitar, bass or drums.
The start of the project had previously been postponed twice due to corona.
Last year in autumn and this year in spring, Langenberger said the lockdowns did not allow implementation.
At the weekend, however, not only one corona test was positive.
“We got a lot of positive feedback,” said the manager.
"It will definitely continue."
The next regular date would be next October.
One is still considering whether the second part of this year's camp will be rescheduled for the participants beforehand.
