Dozens of opponents of the kashrut reform are defending today (Monday) near the house of Minister of Religions Matan Kahana in Moshav Beit Gamliel.
The protesters claim that the reform led by Kahana, together with Finance Minister Lieberman, will lead to disaster among the kosher community and will cause a split that cannot be reconciled among the entire Jewish public in Israel.

The demonstrators arrived at the scene with cages of mice and rabbits with kosher certificates hanging under the supervision of Matan Kahana and Avigdor Lieberman.
As part of the protest, the protesters fried shrimp and seafood near the minister's house, in order to illustrate that if a kosher reform is approved, it will cause real and immediate damage to the quality of kosher food and could lead to prey being sold in any supermarket under private kosher.
