The Krefeld Penguins surprisingly bring the 41-year-old ex-national player Eduard Lewandowski back to the German Ice Hockey League.
The attacker receives a contract for the current season with the Rhinelanders threatened with relegation.
“Thanks to his experience, Eduard will have important working hours.
He is a player who will bring his leadership skills into the dressing room and onto the ice, ”said Krefeld's managing director Sergej Saweljew on Monday.
Krefeld - Lewandowski became German champions in 2007 with Adler Mannheim and also played in the DEL for Kölner Haie, Eisbären Berlin and Düsseldorfer EG.
Most recently he was active in the DEL2 for the Löwen Frankfurt.
