Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov considered that relations between Russia and NATO cannot be described as bad, "because there are no relations between them at the moment."
Russia Today website quoted Lavrov as saying after his talks with Norwegian Foreign Minister Anneken Hoetfeld in Oslo today: "NATO is not a friend of Russia and its members decided not to be friends and described Russia and China as a threat to the alliance."
Lavrov explained that the differences between his country and NATO are "ideological", criticizing NATO's accusations against Moscow and its plans to "deter Russia" and prepare for attacks on it, citing in this context the recent hostile statements of the German Defense Minister against his country.
Earlier today, the Russian Defense Ministry summoned the German military attache and handed him a note of protest against the German Defense Minister's statements about what was described as "nuclear deterrence" against Russia.
