Schleswig-Holstein's Environment and Energy Minister Jan Philipp Albrecht (Greens) wants to move to the head of the party-affiliated Heinrich Böll Foundation next year.
The 38-year-old Albrecht, who was traded as a possible top candidate of the Greens for the state elections in May 2022, confirmed on Monday a report in the “Lübecker Nachrichten” that he had been nominated as a future co-director.
Kiel - "It is clear that I will exercise my ministerial office with all my might and will fight for a strong green result until the state elections next year," said Albrecht.

The new AfD parliamentary group in the state parliament re-elected its chairman Nikolaus Kramer after a four-hour session.
Kramer's preferred candidate for the post of Parliamentary Managing Director, Thomas de Jesus Fernandes, on the other hand, had to admit defeat to MP Thore Stein.
"The majority of the parliamentary group decided differently and of course - as it should be - I support this majority decision," said Kramer on Friday after the election.

The previous co-board members of the political foundation, Ellen Ueberschär and Barbara Unmüßig, are said to be leaving in spring 2022.
A general meeting at the beginning of December will decide on their successors.

Before taking up his ministerial office, Albrecht was a member of the European Parliament until 2018.
